The current US debt as of today is $32.71 trillion. When Biden was signed into office, it was $27.6 trillion. Subtract the two and you get $5.11 trillion, which, you may not be aware, is just a smidge more than half of the $10 trillion you claim.
The question is: where are you getting your information? Because it is lying to you.
- riku_iki 3y agoI can argue that "bidenomics" (printing money) was started by Trump
- dragonwriter 3y ago> I can argue that “bideconomics” (printing money) was started by Trump Not plausibly can you argue that either of those things (which are not synonyms) were started by Trump (one started earlier, the other later.)
- riku_iki 3y agoI totally can, you can disagree of course.
- dragonwriter 3y ago> I totally can Okay, then make the argument, rather than just allude to your abstract ability to do so.
- riku_iki 3y agogovernment printed lots of money which slightly relaxed economy issues but have many negative long term consequences: debt, hit on well being of bottom 50% of population, bigger wealth gap which will be abused by rich.
- somewhat_drunk 3y agoLol, ok. By the same logic, I can argue that "bidenomics" (printing money) started when the Federal Reserve was formed, in 1913. Or that it started when the FED closed the gold window in 1971. Though all three of those arguments would be reductive and stupid, and I'm sure we're both above that, so let's not. But really, reconsider your sources, because they're lying to you.
- riku_iki 3y agoyou can check derivative of the debt growing curve, there are 2 clear shifts in 2008 and 2020, which both happened because of specific policies applied.
