If it helps, I downvoted and/or flagged the comments in this thread I thought were inappropriate (though I won't confirm or deny any specific comment, per the guidelines). I understand the instinct to defend yourself, but a.) Any community that won't have your back isn't worth being a part of, and b.) This is one of those paradoxical cases where the harder you fight, the more resistance you'll encounter, and the only way to win is to give up and accept the comment section as it is. Again, this is just my opinion, discard it if you don't feel it's useful.
