Subject's age = 1.96 x (ear circumference in millimeters – 88.1)
- simonebrunozzi 3y agoExamples: 1.96 x 50 (mm) = 98; 98 - 88.1 =~ 10 years old. 1.96 x 86 (mm) = 98; 168.56 - 88.1 =~ 80 years old. From age 10 to age 80, you gain, on average, 36mm of circumference.

- projektfu 3y agoThe age range in the study is 21-98, so I don't think you can extrapolate to children. They also have a formula, ear circumference = 88.1 + (0.51 × age), meaning an average growth of 0.51mm/year, about 1.4um/day
- darkclouds 3y agoI'll get my Vernier out later, but this would also be a good indication of IGF-1 and Growth Hormone ratio.
