Coverage in any given area is obviously going to be a variable, but the one major difference between the two carriers is that while Verizon has pretty complete 4G coverage, they have rested hard on their laurels and their 5G is light years behind. Just looking at the coverage maps in this comparison[1], it's not even remotely close.
