Why does the market "reward" that behavior?
- bombcar 3y agoBecause the market is kinda dumb, and it takes quite awhile to eat an elephant. C.f. Bogle on "manager's capitalism": https://johncbogle.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/niri-6-03.pdf https://johncbogle.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/... and similar things - much (too much?) of our "value" is financial shell games.
- gretch 3y agoWe don't actually know if this behavior is rewarded or not. Possibly they succeed despite this behavior - some other part of the company is carrying the weight. I have Google Fi (on the tmobile network) and I will say, my cell phone plan does work and is worth what I pay for it. So there's definitely some value generation via that.
