2k Bottles of Wine Illegally Aged at the Bottom of the Ocean
- jfengel 3y agoOn top of that, the company sold the wine without a business license, without an ABC alcohol sales permit, and it was collecting taxes from each purchase without paying the required taxes to the state. Ah. I suspect that they could probably have worked around the environmental concerns, but they just had zero interest in following any of the laws. Alcohol is tightly regulated, and failure to pay taxes (especially when you actually collected them) is a massive no-no. The "illegally aged" part has been attracting headlines because it sounds weird, but it's kind of misleading. If this actually has any merit somebody will do it legally.
