- sylware 3y agoMute means no moderators anymore, all will be able to see all and will have to do its own moderation with muting. This is perfectly coherent with the advocate of free speach who is Mr. E. Musk. But that comes with a price, like everything about digital freedom and freedom in general: The power of "blocking" users in a thread from the originator will be removed: expect people losing such power to whine and fight it. It is good as a swarm of coordinated "others" won't be able to downvote anybody too. Children and young teens would get the heat of the nasty posts since now users would have to mute other themselves. This is a parenting issue: yound teens must be 'ready' and probably helped at the beginning to handle the toxicity you can find on internet (this is a danger in life, like drugs, alcohol, etc). With anonymous and public access: no muting, you have to deal full frontal with the toxic posts.
