Ask HN: Cold water over femoral arteries to cool oneself down?
I've come accross the following supposed trick on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14590669
Does it work and is it any different than running cold water over the whole body?
- jaclaz 3y agoThe generic idea is cooling "pulse points", i.e. places in your body where the blood flow is nearest to the skin. Surely the femoral artery is one carrying a lot of blood, so cooling it is more "efficient" than whole body or other pulse points (you need less water).
