Toyota C++
- kaolinite 15y ago6 months ago, somewhere in Toyota, a programmer was asked "I know this is a bit outside your job description.. but could you help us out with this little project?"
- tptacek 15y agoTHIS IS TERRIBLE. Toyota is a huge company with serious technical and process chops and it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that they had done something interesting with C++. Instead, one fucking dumb joke? I'm sorry if I missed something awesome here but can someone please edit the title on this? "Car company uses obscure pun to sell cars" would do.
- __alexs 15y ago> Instead, one fucking dumb joke? It's actually two dumb jokes. http://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/vehicles/prius-c/features-benefits/exterior http://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/vehicles/prius-c/features-ben...
- patio11 15y ago10,000 yen says a single web designer at an outsourced web development company hired by their Canadian subsidiary. it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that they had done something interesting with C++ It isn't outside the realm of possibility. whistles
- dreadsword 15y agowooooo tell us how you really feel about Toyota's goofy advert
- jerrya 15y agoI was expecting/hoping for an article about a Toyota sourced library that introduced real-time, or safety, or testing features into C++. I thought that having learned something about 6 sigma and the Toyota way, it would be natural to expect that Toyota would have done something like this. So yeah, this article was a bit of a let down.
- unwind 15y agoHm ... I thought the model was really called the C plus plus, but that seems to be just a sub-page. There's also http://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/vehicles/prius-c/features-benefits/exterior http://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/vehicles/prius-c/features-ben... playing on "C sharp". Weird. Are they trying to target programmers?
- dreadsword 15y agoLooks like they are! Good find on the c# - I missed that one.
- shimsham 15y agoclever stuff, thinking outside of the box.
- dreadsword 15y agoThat's what I thought - its a nice wink/nudge to those in the know
