Complexity and simplicity are... Complex. Brainfuck is simple in its own design but using it to do anything in particular is not. Some Java code bases are borderline patronising in their apparent simplicity but are actually built on many layers of complexity which is then hidden. So when you say you want "simplicity" I have to ask what you mean by that. Where do you want simplicity and where can what you think of as simplicity arise as complexity elsewhere? I think there are more nuanced trade-offs than unqualified notions of "simplicity" and "complexity" don't capture very well.
