I'm not entirely convinced that your baby hanging outside the car is an improvement over your baby just laying on the seat.

  I think that one was a "baby hangs inside the window when driving, but you can hang them outside when parked at a picnic". But maybe not! Maybe life was much more exciting (and bug filled) for babies back then.

    I feel like the metal frame external car seat would get hot as hell in the baking sun when taking your baby for a picnic.

        Either way, at least Baby wouldn't suffocate in the heat, as they do nowadays.
