They have a cocain problem there ...
- cies 3y agoWho said it's a problem?
- yourusername 3y agoThe bombs going off almost daily in the big cities aren't great.
- Ylpertnodi 3y agoCould you define 'almost daily', and also clarify - which big cities?
- yourusername 3y agoRotterdam, Amsterdam. Amsterdam had 100 explosions in 2022, Rotterdam 50. But in 2023 there were 250 explosions by the 16th of July. Will probably end the year with over 1 explosion per day on average, i'd consider that "almost daily". Just to clarify these aren't accidental explosions but bombs left outside appartments and shops.
- Mashimo 3y agoReporters get murdered and royalties get threats. Did some witness not also get killed?
- cies 3y agoThat because of criminalizing it. The users of coke in NL have little problems with it (not worse than alcohol research has shown).
- bboygravity 3y agoThis will surely fix the cocaine maffia problem! And the Russian olicharch/maffia sanction evasions in Amsterdam while we're at it. Why not? Just ban cash! Poof all those problems gone!
- mistrial9 3y agovice in many forms is a problem, of a certain degree. Justice has long held a principled view that punishment must be proportional to the crime. Social studies and medical literature go further and find that moral behavior does not respond to command and control. With that said - are reasonable people suggesting that restricting private wealth is a social response to vice? Immediately think to yourself, in a wealthy society, this institutionalizes third party oversight of individual money. Who benefits from that today? Now, who might be pushing this kind of legislation ? This is not the path forward in a free society.
- tremon 3y agoThe politicians are finding it hard to kick their habits.
