For long road trips mainly on the highway, I don't think the Mercedes tech is particularly helpful. Their level 3 solution is only level 3 when it's below 40 mph and during the day. Most road trips (at least in the US) are highway >50mph. It seems much more useful for city commuting where < 40 mph is much more common.
