A third of adults believe Covid-19 vaccines caused deaths, poll says
- andreasley 3y agoTitle is misleading; not just deaths, but “thousands of sudden deaths in otherwise healthy people”.
- frankjr 3y agoUS adults. But I suppose morons are everywhere. > Nearly a third of people also said they believed the parasitic deworming medication ivermectin was an “effective treatment for COVID-19.”
- ZeroGravitas 3y agoI'm amazed how often an american survey has 1/3rd choosing the absurd answer. It's a surprisingly stable result. A third of Americans don't believe in evolution: https://phys.org/news/2014-01-americans-dont-evolution.html https://phys.org/news/2014-01-americans-dont-evolution.html (2014, but they got similar results in 2009) Two-Thirds of Americans Think Government Should Do More on Climate https://www.pewresearch.org/science/2020/06/23/two-thirds-of-americans-think-government-should-do-more-on-climate/ https://www.pewresearch.org/science/2020/06/23/two-thirds-of... while 35% view Trump favorably https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/07/21/little-change-in-americans-views-of-trump-over-the-past-year/ https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/07/21/little-ch... And coincidentally 35% think Trump is somewhat or very religious https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/03/25/most-americans-dont-see-trump-as-religious/ https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/03/25/most-amer... Of course there's many items where a majority of American's have been confused into believing stuff that's not true, but there seems to be a solid floor of disagreement with reality that lies under that at around 1 in 3. I guess a key question is if it is the same third every time.
