We're going to be in a weird regime if people can be held liable for "harmful" (offensive to a certain political viewpoint) AI output but you can't copyright it. Ultimately, it's nonsensical to imagine foundation model creators being liable for output, it's a collection of stats about data scraped from the internet. Ironically I expect the same "stochastic parrot" people also support trying to criminalize a computer predicting a sequence of tokens they don't like.
