I don't necessarily agree with the article, but I wonder why the comments here are so hostile. I do wish employers of high school graduates were willing and legally allowed to consider SAT/ACT and AP exam scores in addition to high school GPAs in hiring. It's my impression that very few do. Has anyone had a job where they not only confirmed that you graduated from high school but looked at your transcript? Since the high school record, other than graduating or not (a low bar), is ignored, a college degree is still a way to signal general intelligence, which is largely why I am sending my child to a "fancy" college in a week.
