- LatteLazy 3y agoI feel like this is an important parable for my fellow lefties. I often get frustrated when people refuse to acknowledge that some people are arseholes. And we cannot run programs without arsehole filter...
- nh23423fefe 3y agoIt's probably ok if assholes get something they don't "deserve" as long as deserving people are helped. It's only the ratio that matters not the absolute waste.
- LatteLazy 3y agoIt's not so much the linear problem (if you give everyone X some arseholes will get X). I can see the logic in things like UBI. It's more like the exponential effect. Here in the UK social housing is never reassessed. So we have people who were given a 5 bed house for tuppence rent in 1970 because there was plenty of housing and they had kids. Now they're single and don't need it. But they aren't required to move. Meanwhile we have families in 1 bed flats desperate for a really home.
