Show HN: Footage – Full-featured private video editor, 1.04 MB in size (iOS)
- zilvinassebeika 3y agoHi, HN! Two years ago, my wife spent a ton of time editing and creating a movie of our newborn's first year. This year, we have an app to easily create such films on the go. Features: - Capture clips directly into an auto-montage Stories (this means no editing afterwards) - Share movie with an invite link (auto-updates, push notifications) - Collaboration: Shoot the same movie(s) together with family/friends - iCloud backup - Front/Back camera(s) support, zoom, video stabilisation - Trim, copy, move, re-arrange, mute, delete clips - Export (as a compiled file or as separate clips) - 100% privacy - no third-party backend is involved - No Account, Sign-up is required - 1.04 MB in size (download) - Developed in pure Swift, using native libraries only (with the exception of Amplitude, which is used for anonymous usage analytics) - Today View & Lock screen widgets for quick launch Give it a try (it's free, https://apple.co/3q7OetH https://apple.co/3q7OetH) and let us know what you enjoy/dislike about it! Any feedback is very appreciated. Thank you.
- wifipunk 3y agoWould be nice if we could add music/audio to it, but as is it's a really simple editor with all the basic features and thank you so much for not requiring an account. Hope you get the chance to build on it.
- zilvinassebeika 3y agoYes, adding music/audio features is definitely in the plans, but currently the goal is to keep the app as simple as possible. The focus now is to simplify sharing, so it works seamlesly. And it kinda works already - I capture more moments with the kid - and my wife can preview it on her device after the sync happens. But it’s not perfect yet, of course.
