The Privacy Protection Act requires a subpoena be issued, and the bar for executing a warrant against journalist or news organization is exceedingly high and was clearly not met in this instance.
- s1artibartfast 3y agoSubpoenas are only required if you want to search a journalist in relation to a crime committed by a third party. If a journalist is suspected of committing a crime themselves, they get treated to basically the same standards as everyone else.
