Let's see if I can make a secular approach to this.
Sex and sexuality are oriented toward procreation of children. They are also oriented toward forming bonds of love and trust between the people having sex.
It is no mistake that sex is referred to as "intimacy". It is a time of vulnerability, of togetherness, of sharing between the people having it.
With the above stipulations in mind, sex is something that is typically done in private. I know not of a prevailing culture anywhere in the world that encourages people to have sex in public. Public nudity is restricted to certain places, and even "PDAs" may be socially discouraged to some extent, especially if they approach or simulate intercourse.
Also with the above in mind, sex is traditionally an act shared between a man and a wife hoping to have children.
So it seems like porn flouts all the norms that I've just described. Porn is, by design more or less, transgressive in every way possible. It's clear that the author of the article supports extremely transgressive depictions of porn, as long as they are "ethically produced".
Porn is not a realistic depiction of intercourse for love and procreation; porn is a drama or comedy, usually with a campy exaggeration of everything that men love to see: the body types, characters, situations, props and clothing are all geared to appeal to people who consume porn, not to people who are interested in having children or loving their wives.

The vast majority of sex is entirely unrelated to procreation. > They are also oriented toward forming bonds of love and trust between the people having sex. This is a value judgement that I don't believe is universally true. A lot of people have casual relations, sometimes for their entire lives without building bonds of love and trust. > Also with the above in mind, sex is traditionally an act shared between a man and a wife hoping to have children. So once a man and wife have all the children they are going to have, they abstain from sex for the rest of their lives? While I appreciate that you attempted to take a secular view of this, I don't think you were successful. You've taken things that are very traditional christian centric viewpoints and proscribed them as something that transcends religion Frankly, I don't actually believe porn is any worse than any other modern media consumption. Media addiction is a real problem regardless of the genre that caused it. I also firmly believe that what consenting adults legally do is entirely up to them and I have no right to make moral judgments. If two people want to get down and nasty and record it for other consenting adults, who am I to tell them it's wrong?
