Firefox changed the default setting for pull-to-refresh to disabled
- anilakar 3y agoAnd here I thought I was becoming mad and blamed web sites for finding a way to disable that behavior with JS.
- happymellon 3y agoYes, it would have been nice to notify me that they disabled this.
- chiefalchemist 3y agoI understand there was a reason for this decision. But why can't the product - from time to time - prompt the user to ask about a particular setting? Worst case add a "don't show me this again" checkbox.
- appleflaxen 3y agoThey need to ask you about pocket, and don't want to exhaust your attention /S
- not_your_vase 3y agoTangential rant: on iOS Safari it drives me crazy that there is a reload button... except on google.com. There is no reload button there - it's only pull-to-refresh. If you manage to figure it out, of course. Otherwise no google reload for you.
- bouke 3y agoThere’s no reload button for your default search engine. So for me, there _is_ a reload button on google.com.
- nextaccountic 3y agoWhat is pull to refresh?
- nateb2022 3y agoPull to refresh is a mobile gesture where, when viewing a web-page, users viewing a webpage can use a downward-swipe to "pull" the site down and make the browser reload the page. For example, on Safari it looks like this: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2022/01/25/refresh-safari-webpage-tutorial/#Pull-to-refresh https://www.idownloadblog.com/2022/01/25/refresh-safari-webp... Firefox first implemented this feature in April 2023, however they are temporarily putting it behind a default-disabled option because of a number of bugs, until they can be resolved.
- NikkiA 3y agoEver since the 'zoom to top of page' gesture got ditched in, uh? ios 6? 7? It rendered pull to refresh as somewhat pointless to me.
