Still 35 seconds off the record time for a production car. Far off of the hybrid Mercedes-AMG ONE (~6:30).
The battery tech is still too heavy to be as fast and as nimble as ICE or hybrid (there's a balance there between torque for acceleration and energy density).
The record time was 5:19.546 in the Porsche 919 hybrid (non-production)... watching video of that run still blows my mind (I have a racing background).
