Are they sure that USA has a uniform dignity culture? I can see UAE having less diversity of culture among their people, but surely USA is so diverse as to have a complete spectrum of both honor and dignity cultures.
Also, I believe this is the first time I've heard of the terms and seen them compared/contrasted. Can every world culture be dropped into one of these two boxes, or are there more?

I've always lived in the US and felt alienated from some of the undignified behavior 'honor' elicits here. And, since we're human beings, dignity is something we can only ever aspire to. Anyway, despite their attempts to cage them with those two definitions, words like 'honor', 'dignity', 'worth', 'wisdom' are too 'fingergespitzenfeel' to be useful measures of more than sentiment.
