I'm with you in spirit. People like different things though, it's okay. It's a drag how hostile and hateful some of the comments about this have been though. I happen to like it. It looks rather durable. The sling attachment points are really cool. If I found some indication it was water resistant I'd add it to the short list of acquisitions. The aversion to high frequency detail is a fad that well go away some day.
