BS, while it's nice and a great benefit to code for joy, the fact is that coding is a job for most people. It pays the bills. Most people in society do work as a way to satisfy other needs. Coding is no different. If it's your passion that's great. If you are doing it to pay the bills that's great too. Don't get suckered in to thinking that you have to have a great passion for it. It pays well and you do it in a very nice environment. Additionally, the paycheck gives you the added freedom to search for your passion if coding is not it. That should be enough.
