The latest AMD instance launched by AWS, M7a, is unusual in that 1 vCPU = 1 physical core - the same as Graviton but not like the Sapphire Rapids M7i instances, which still use hyperthreading.
I wonder if this is a signal that the whole industry is giving up on SMT. Maybe just because of the poor ROI, or maybe because mitigating the associated vulnerabilities has become too problematic.
