Seems difficult to ban TikTok alone without violating the First Amendment. If you more generally banned exploitative data practices then you’d interfere with other social media companies as well.
- empath-nirvana 3y agoI think legally, all they can really do is force tiktok to cut all ties with the chinese government if they want to operate in the US.
- brucethemoose2 3y agoIs there any precedent for the US banning foreign press? If not, I think that speaks volumes.
- cheriot 3y agoThere's a lot of precedence for regulating commerce based on who owns the company and what country the owner is in.
