I used https://github.com/cozmo/jsQR https://github.com/cozmo/jsQR in production for years. Never had any problems, before all smartphones had built in QR readers, most of our users would use it primarily to interact with our product. Works for iOS and Android. To my knowledge does not use ZXing and is Apache Licensed.
