I grew up in lake Tahoe in the 80s. Lots of homes were <$100k Now they are having to ban Airbnb because there is no affordable housing for general lower wage workers In the late 80s lots of houses were bought and replaced with multi million dollar homes. My dad was a general contractor and built a bunch of expensive homes So it's really hard for places like Colorado Tahoe Jackson hole etc to maintain balance between affluence and affordable housing in especially places where lots of houses are wealthy second homes
