The title is wrong. It's 256KB, not GB. "[...] is offering to rescue files up to 256KB from corrupted SanDisk Extreme SSDs for free"

- giuliomagnifico 3y agoUh, my mistake, thanks for the correction! I edited the title. Btw 256KB is nothing, I read GB at the first take…
- jaclaz 3y agoI think there are many more things wrong, the provider of the software: https://www.securedatarecovery.com/blog/sandisk-extreme-recovery https://www.securedatarecovery.com/blog/sandisk-extreme-reco... says nothing about a file size limit, but the instructions (about retrieving data from a failed external/portable SSD) are: > 1. Download the SecureRecovery software > 2. Select the location containing lost data. That is C: drive for most users. Not a very good start, the drive letter won't ever be C: and besides the typical symptom of these failed SSD's seems to be that the volume becomes RAW (no drive letter assigned to it/ no mount point). Also, the software being XP compatible (which would otherwise be a good thing, though Windows 7 is recommended) should mean that is not a dedicated tool for this specific kind of data recovery on Sandisk 2023 SSD's: https://www.securedatarecovery.com/software https://www.securedatarecovery.com/software https://securesoftware.com/products/securerecovery-for-windows https://securesoftware.com/products/securerecovery-for-windo... Personally I wouldn't touch this software with a ten foot pole.
