Genetics makes some people more likely to participate in genetic studies
- ctoth 3y agoFlying awfully close to the biodeterminism sun with this one, aren't they? I somehow thought such research was taboo in the current environment.
- cyanydeez 3y agoI'd guess they're trying to highlight a self selection bias in the current genetic database being built by vanity concerns rather than clinical.
- graypegg 3y agoSilly question but, is it possible they’re thinking about this wrong? Rather than a gene being responsible for making people sign up for studies, what if people that sign up for studies are worried about genetic disease they know of in their family? Wouldn’t that show up as correlation?
