Ask HN: What happened to the Thorium reactor hype?
I remember seeing a lot of articles and videos about thorium being the future about 10 years ago…
- pfdietz 3y agoIt never made much sense. Thorium wasn't solving the problem (cost) that was holding back nuclear energy.

- mikewarot 3y agoThere are a lot of technical problems related to online processing of the fuel, the reactivity of salts at high temperatures with metals, etc. It's a matter of research and development, it can be done, if we devote enough resources to get across the finish line.
