The float test is for freshness. I use it a lot. But never saw a floating egg, also never had a bad one. Time for an experiment I guess.

- justsomehnguy 3y ago> also never had a bad one Consider yourself lucky. I had one, breaking them into the bowl for the scrambled eggs and one of the batch was foul. I was ~8 at that time and if my parents weren't there I would probably just run away never to get back to that kitchen, house, city.
