Local here. For the first murder (the one in Buenos Aires), the victim was initially portrayed by the media as a "crypto entrepreneur", too, and I guess that was copied over and never revisited as media usually does -- but as facts were emerging it turned out that he was just a very careless con artist that tried to run a scam with the wrong kind of people.
Shocking, I know.
- Melting_Harps 3y ago> Shocking, I know. I've been in this space for 13 years next month, nothing shocks me anymore; it is why I find TV and Movies entirely boring by comparison. Fact is stranger than fiction. With that said, yeah that makes sense; you know as well as anyone how bad the financial system is in Argentina, add another imbecile promising the moon with his new token/NFT/yield scam and it's just expected to happen. Personally, I always thought Brock Pierce (that kid actor from Mighty Ducks who is also believed to be a pedophile) and company were going to end up swimming with the fishes in Puerto Rico after he tried to coax his way in there and be seen as a white knight. That was the last thing anyone expected but there, but there he was talking about how he was there to rescue everyone and how only he had the answer. I don't wish ill on anyone, but some people have it coming and nothing can spare them from their stupidity or greed.
