What I care about more than "fell for it" is the general lack of patience and skepticism from us, the audience and the commenters. As commenters, we are part of the media (i.e. social media). Usually, anything claiming itself a revolutionary discovery, especially in physics, has a strong undertone of crankery. For it to be included, even in a preprint, is a bit preposterous. It's not wrong to be excited, but there is a sort of fatigue which builds up, like the boy who cried wolf.
