"and pave the way for Apple to become the most important technology company ever"
Yikes, that's a hell of a statement about a company with 20% global market share on smartphones and 8% on PCs -- as well as a negligible enterprise and server share.
Apple's only the most important technology company to the professional-managerial class, where the social clout gained by owning an Apple product is much more important than the product itself.
- itisit 3y agoYou cannot deny the vast positive competitive influence Apple has had on personal computing over the last 25 years. They take a pass at improving the experience of whatever it is, and everyone significantly ups their game thereafter. You don't have to like them, but it's foolishly disingenuous to suggest their significance is limited to their sales or their marketability.
