It's definitely sad, but until there's some breakthrough in the ability to try remotely, the beatings shall continue. I buy a bunch of stuff on craigslist, where I know I won't be able to return. However I negotiate as much as 80% off the brand new price. Until I get similar discounts I would never bother with an online store that won't let me return.
