Hmm, is a heart just one type of cell? Surely there are muscle cells, and nerve cells? In which case, how do they get the nerves in the right place?
- rolph 3y agothere is a protien scaffold that provides the basic location "flags" that contribute to a cells differentiation fate.
- Chris2048 3y agooh, the scaffold provides the triggers :O interesting! I thought it would be something based on the types of neighbouring cells.
- rolph 3y agoit is a combinatoric of both. fundamentally, cell receptors interact with the ligands presented by the environment, such as tissue scaffold, neighbouring cells, and diffusive signal factors.
