I disagree with everything you said, lol. Besides the original NEW Zelda being fun. Nintendo is very sparing in how often they make mainline games in their IP

I disagree with everything you said, lol. Besides the original NEW Zelda being fun.
Nintendo is very sparing in how often they make mainline games in their IP (besides Pokemon). Mario has had one main 3d game in a decade. Zelda had 6 years between BoTW and ToTK, and 5 years between BoTW and it's predecessor. Everyone of those (Mario and Zelda) until ToTK was completely different, with a different feel and different mechanics.
- pfannkuchen 3y agoI think a lot of what makes the games special is the level of polish vs other studios. Polish takes a lot of time, which is why most studios don’t do it to the degree Nintendo seems to.
- larrik 3y agoI think that helps a ton, but they also focus obssessively on gameplay. Story, graphics, cinematics, etc. take a backseat. Multiplayer rarely exists at all.
