    Neither the GDPR nor CCPA have a "right to erasure" or require deleting everything. They require deleting personally identifying information - not everything falls into that category. For example, this comment does not have any PII in it that would qualify under either of those laws and so asking HN to delete it under either would likely be futile. If you have a different opinion on this, could you cite the part of the CCPA or GDPR that suggests that every comment should be deleted?
