I took a year off to travel in my 20s. When I was done it took 6 months to find a job in my field. I then took 2 years off to travel in my late 30s. And it took 1 month to find a job in my field. The companies that used that time off against me I probably wouldn't be happy working there anyway. The others that were curious about that special time were regaled with stories of being a fish out of water or finding solutions to real problems with nothing but duct tape and hand tools. And, yes returning to a fixed, landbased, lifestyle has not been easy but it works for us, right at this moment. I know I can travel again. I've seen the greener grass and know I can leave this life behind and go back to it at any time.
