Traveling is just going to a lower rung on the rat race hierarchy, where your rat race earnings have more spending power.
Basically given limited resources, beings compete for those resources. There's no way for us to handle that unless we have carefully planned birth rates. But with unfettered immigration and high birth rates in certain parts of the world, it will not end soon.
- NickM 3y agoMost of the resources people are competing for are also produced by humans, so I don't think that reducing the population would necessarily improve the collective standard of living, because you reduce the supply of goods and services just as much - or more - than you reduce the demand.

- randomopining 3y agoSo you could stratify people by how much they contribute to the collective production of goods. Do you think some are huge net drains?
