YouTube to prohibit false claims cancer treatments under misinformation policy
- NoZebra120vClip 3y agoI harbor a lot of strong feelings about cancer and treatments, and YouTube was more or less hammering me mercilessly with St. Jude commercials. I also harbor a lot of strong feelings about St. Jude and Danny Kaye in particular. Namely, I mainly feel that St. Jude takes advantage of families and basically uses children as guinea pigs, while sprinkling around lots of "free" medical treatment, and possibly a lot of false hopes. YouTube's "misinformation battles" are rather hilarious in their futility. Their definition of "abortion" is equivalent to a description of childbirth. I just got to laugh. (In fact, take a look across languages on Wikipedia, a lot of them unwittingly describe childbirth in the lead paragraph.) Since it's not OK to say what abortion actually does, it's necessarily to gingerly use a few euphemisms and sort of imply what happens without going there.
