You could also check out libjit: https://www.gnu.org/software/libjit/ https://www.gnu.org/software/libjit/ . I've not used it before but know it exists. Essentially you pass your bytecode in and the library handles turning that into machine code and everything. So that library would handle the loading and unloading of executable memory for you, you would just have to handle translating your rules into the libjit bytecode.
