Where did all the geniuses go?
- h2odragon 3y agoBeing quicker or better at something than your peers isn't something to advertise, anymore. At best you're arrogant in the eyes of others, more likely you become the target of everyone who finds it easier to excuse failures than strive for success. People are far more into celebrating their handicaps and mental blocks than their gifts. "I'm worse off than you" doesn't upset others the way "I'm better than you" does; so people try to avoid giving any impression they think they might be better than anyone at anything.
- kjs3 3y agoIt's been my experience over a long lifetime that the vast majority of people who live their lives thinking they're better than everyone and feel the need to tell people how superior they are, aren't.
