While some may view software development as low anxiety, my experience has been different. At various workplaces, I've faced pressures related to deadlines, increasing velocity, and ensuring successful feature delivery. Nevertheless, I remain passionate about software development, though I wouldn't describe it as low stress. I also find the prospect of finding a new position in the software industry to be difficult for those with anxiety. Instead of having more behavioral and work history based interviews in other industries, software engineers are expected to complete leetcode exercise gauntlets and perform in scenarios that aren’t representative of daily working environments. The thought of interviewing for a new position makes me anxious.
