- dotancohen 3y agoHonestly, English intellectuals are a good yardstick for how history will remember people and events. If the English intellectuals esteem someone or some event, then generally those people and events are widely considered disparaged two generations down.

- bazoom42 3y agoSince English intellectuals at the time included both Orwell and TS Eliot (and I suppose Tolkien and Chesterton and Aleister Crowley) is it really fair to paint them with such a broad brush?
