This is about incentivizing folks to switch from natural gas appliances to electric appliances. Anyone in the thread who is saying the plan is "insane" clearly doesn't understand it. There are plenty of reasons to discuss why it's imperfect, but the folks screaming bloody murder obviously haven't looked at it or considered the second-order effects this will create.
