Amazon warns workers to come back into the office
- dingosity 3y agoThough Amazon is known to hire people just so they can fire them during the next cycle of rank and yank, so they'll probably just fire those people and let the people they actually hired to do work stay full-remote.
- extraduder_ire 3y agoI wish they made gaming that more explicit in their hiring. Like, treat the job as a temp thing, unless you want to aggressively climb ranks.
- pknomad 3y agoI think they're doing a pretty good job at that already, given their PR. I have never worked for Amazon and I am sure there are excellent teams within Amazon where one can find good work opportunities and healthy environment but I'd be really hesitant about taking an offer from them if it were to be presented to me.
- barbazoo 3y ago> "While we've taken several steps to ensure this email went to the correct recipients, we recognize that there may be instances where we have it wrong," the company said. No hard feelings, that is a particularly hard problem to solve. /s
- gymbeaux 3y agoI wonder if/when they’ll be desperate enough to hire people who solve their leetcode problems, but sub-optimally (eg O(N^2))
