Imagine they decided to offer a stripped down and clean version of Windows 11. Just the minimal OS you got when you installed older versions of Windows 7 or previous iterations. Everyone would immediate migrate from Windows 10. But people expect that you need tools like this and that your new OS version sucks. And they would be correct.
Excuses about casual users wanting this crap will serve as an excuse for bad product management. But the truth is that casual users don't want this crap either.
- CTOSian 3y agooh yes, people now (typical 'users' not power ones) are expecting something 'works out of the box'. Minimal OS, ok at least there is winPE+deployiment tools for power-users :}
- raxxorraxor 3y agoI wasn't thinking that minimal. Just normal Windows with a calculator, wordpad, ... but without XBOX game bar and +20 widgets that just try to sell me stuff.
